Fairview Health Services - Cancer Infusion Clinic, located in Burnsville, MN is a department of University of Minnesota Medical Center. We are looking for a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our busy Oncology/Hematology clinic with cancer care support services and extensive IV infusion services. We are the largest cancer care provider in the central metro region.

• .01 FTE (Casual hours) to help fill in for pre-planned and last minute needs
• M-F, Day shifts . Currently no weekends.
• Reports to the Patient Care Supervisor
• Our team includes several MDs, Medical Assistants, RNs, Pharmacist and Social Worker.
• Oncology/Hematology Clinic with cancer care support services and extensive IV Infusion services

Oncology and Infusion Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) duties include but not limited to;

• Room patients and collect patient data, document using EHR.
• Discharge patients,
• Obtain vitals and perfom EKG's.
• A larger responsibility will be performing peripheral lab draws and injections as directed.
• Instruct and collect specimens, accurate specimen labeling.
• Reinforce provider information per protocol, provide standardized instruction.
• May assist with procedures.
• Cleans patient chairs/rooms and other tasks as directed.
• Daily patient cares (toileting, getting drinks etc).
• Order and manage supplies, linen and nutrition items for department.
• Will be trained to work in scheduling and front desk duties and scheduled in that role on the weekends

Requires;
Medical Assistant degree (Graduate ofaccredited program by start date) or current LPN (MN) licensure.
Current A.H.A BLS certification for healthcare providers
Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be able to prioritize and work with a fluctuation in workload.
Must be able to work at other locations (on occasion) in Edina and Burnsville.
Must have proficient keyboard skills and ability to learn various computer programs.
Able to demonstrate focus on customer (patient) service with every interaction and serve patients with compassion.
Ability to work as an effective team member to provide exceptional care.
Ability to embrace change. Ability to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking skills and engage in ongoing process improvement.

Prefer;
Medical Assistant certification or LPN Licensure
Lab draw work experience
Scheduling/receptionist work experience in a medical setting
