Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The role of the Full Time Neurology PA is to meet the demand and increase efficiency of the neurology department. The Full Time Neurology PA will be trained to perform routine procedures including: injections (botox, trigger point injections, occipital nerve blocks, etc), providing headache infusions, etc. and will assist Neurologist, under their supervision for outpatient clinic coverage, as well as inpatient consults, ER, and CLC consults. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Performing physical examinations and preventive health measures Ordering, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic tests Recording physical findings and formulating plans and prognosis based on the patient's condition; prescribing or recommending medications or other forms of treatment Discussing cases with physicians (ex: PCP) Performing routine procedures/injections after sufficient training/under supervision of neurologist. Other duties as assigned, which might include coverage of neurology service during vacations of neurology attending. Work Schedule: The expected tour of duty is intended to be Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; however nights, weekends and holidays may be expected if Veteran needs arise.
